We’re counting down the last 12 days of 2012 with Street Art photos chosen by BSA readers. Each one was nominated because it has special meaning to a reader or is simply a great photograph from 2012 that they think is great. Our sincere thanks to everyone who shared their favorite images.
Our third entry comes from Canadian photographer Andre Pace, who has shot 3,800 photos over the last 6 years, mostly cataloguing Montreal and Quebec based Street Art. Andre is a sincerely dedicated photographer to capture this much work since the scene is very dispersed and difficult to catch, “Please remember this is not NY or LA or London where street art is everywhere,” he tells you while describing the long trips he takes just to capture a few good shots.
Here Andre talks about his favorite photo of Street Art from 2012 -“This photo was taken in Sherbrooke, Quebec on a cold January morning in 2012. There is an old train yard in Sherbrooke and once a month I drive 100 miles to get there there from Montreal trying to catch a Labrona or an OTHER train piece. I know that these 2 great Montreal Street Artists will trek all the way over there just to do a piece on a train – it’s their favourite medium. On this day I felt very lucky and I finally got a shot of a very rare Labrona piece on a train,” Mr. Pace says.
