Caro Pepes signature ’one eyed girl’ graces the walls of cities Worldwide, most recently at the iconic UPFEST, Europes largest street art festival, based in Bristol, England.

The Argentinian artist, born and raised in Corrientes aka ’City of Murals’ is currently based in Berlin, having previously spent several years working as an art director in Buenos Aires and Madrid. In 2012 she ed the World of advertising and headed to Berlin to concentrate solely on her own art.

The artist, who claims her rst crush was apparently on the colour magenta, describes herself not as a street artist, but instead as a painter who does murals.

”.. I haven’t always just painted one eye. It all started, of course, with a personal experience when I realized that in order to maintain my ‘state of happiness’, I unconsciously suppressed some facts. I chose what to see and what to ignore. That experience lead me to think that as the subjective individuals we are, we tend to build our emotions and construct our ‘truth’ based on a partial view of reality. The ‘one eye’ symbolizes that partiality”.

Today her focus is on acrylic and ink canvases and large scale murals with latex and spray paint and more recently experimentations with sculpture. During her stay, the artist will also be producing a permanent mural at Subtopia, Alby.
