Introducing a collection of paintings and drawings called ‘Shopullali.’

‘Shopullali’ – which means ‘light’ in Chickasaw stems from Addison’s family heritage of Native North American. His new body of work is a focus of on-going theories and usage of color with an application of the painting process. The studies of light and the translation with color-constrained by line and movement are focused on drawings and paintings as his medium. The exploration of these manifests themselves in both works of figurative and abstract subject matter often times blurring the line between the two. Pulling compositions, experiences, and inspirations from travels in Germany, Italy, North America and Pakistan to create this artwork with the usage of light finding its way into his works in a romantic and subtle nature. These focal highlights are meant to be a journey that is not overly oblivious to find their origin. The artworks want the viewer to fall in love in a hypnotic and trances like state when their eyes relax and allowed to blur out the precise details they are viewing. Color groups & concepts are explored using theories of parallelism, the bezold effect, and diffused highlights.
