Daydreaming with UNKLE Presents…
Private View:
Thursday 19th January 6-9pm
Exhibition runs:
20th January – 23rd February 2017
‘Our Past Is Your Future’
In early 2017 James Lavelle will take over Lazarides Rathbone with Daydreaming with UNKLE Presents…
THE ROAD: SOHO: a unique and interactive exploration of his British music collective UNKLE. The show
will explore music, art and street culture from a host of talented artists and collaborators, including Futura,
Doug Foster, John Isaacs, Norbert Schoerner, John Nolan, Nathan Coley, Ben Drury, Warren Du Preez and
Nick Thornton Jones, Dexter Navy, Seamus Farrell and more.
In anticipation of UNKLE’s forthcoming album THE ROAD, this immersive show celebrates 25 years of
UNKLE by going back to its roots in Soho, London’s hub of counter culture. The show will feature new
video installations accompanying the first opportunity to hear forthcoming UNKLE album collaborations
with Keaton Henson, Mark Lanegan and Eska; in addition to paintings, special edition prints from a variety
of artists and a series of events including talks and film screenings.
Daydreaming with UNKLE Presents…THE ROAD: SOHO goes back to where it all began; Steve Lazarides,
founder of Lazarides Gallery, was the first photographer to work with James Lavelle on UNKLE and Mo’Wax,
while Mo’Wax’s record label offices were situated on nearby Mortimer Street.
As well as new music releases in conjuction with The Vinyl Factory from forthcoming UNKLE album THE
ROAD, there will be a pop-up store featuring collaborative rare counter cultural artefacts from Hysteric
Glamour, Neigbourhood, Undercover, as well as Cali Thornhill Dewitt (Kanye West’s designer), and vintage
collectible archival pieces from Nike, Converse and Medicom Toys. There will also be a collaboration with
seminal Soho hairdressers Cuts and a programme of further events to be announced.

Please join us for the private view and an incredibly special experience on Thursday 19th January, 6pm – 9pm.
