Read from the press release below:
Chicago Truborn is the city’s premier destination for unique and affordable pieces of original artwork from emerging and established artists alike. In the last year alone, Chicago Truborn has aided in the creation of public arts initiatives all across Chicago— bringing graffiti and street art into residential and commercial neighborhoods.
Having recently earned the title of Chicago’s “Best Established Gallery”, the gallery proudly sponsored and helped to establish the Wabash Arts Corridor; The first large scale mural project of its kind in our city. And, that’s only the beginning.
To celebrate 3 years strong, Chicago Truborn is throwing a blockbuster group show encompassing all the gallery stands for, loves, and, represents. Truborn takes great pride in introducing the art form and history of street/urban/graffiti art to those who are unfamiliar and the gallery has stayed true to the promise to highlight aerosol artists first and foremost. What better way to represent Truborn’s third year in business than to have a show centered around spray cans?!
Artists from all over the world have created custom pieces of work for this mega group show. Each artist was asked to use aerosol cans either as the “canvas” or as the focal point of the piece. Expect to enjoy mixed media work, graffiti inspired pieces, and unique applications based around the tools of the trade.
Opening Reception September 10, 2016 : 6- 10 p.m.
