WHY: Himbad’s ability to develop deviant characters in environments inspired by Eastern mythology and Egyptian folklore has not only grabbed the attention of collectors, it’s also made him an artist to watch, and connected him to many renowned street artists: it has been said of him:

Himbad is like a Shepard Fairey that can actually draw ” -Banksy

I think Banksy wishes he could be Himbad “-  D*Face

WHO: Himbad is an elusive entity with a collective of characters drawn from his studies in ancient mysticism and Eastern mythology. Originally from London, he has become an internationally renowned street artist recognized through his army of creatures such as Itsyu, Lmeow, Yol9 and Miss Chief, to name a few.

He specializes in the sprezzatura painting method discarding any preconceived ideas to his work and instead takes from the moment feeding directly from the spring of inspiration. No two paintings are alike, and through working with this sense of immediacy Himbad is able to harness the spirit of the unpredictable; the pure essence of painting. His works are explosive in color which he uses to manipulate and create immensely beautiful, layered surfaces of remarkable detail.

Over the last few years Himbad’s artistic career has grown exponentially. He’s been invited to paint in major cities around the world and holds the record for painting the largest mural in both Chiang Mai, Thailand and Wynwood, Miami. From exhibiting in London, New York, Los Angeles, Denver, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Berlin, Paris and Italy, Himbad’s work has become highly sought after with international collectors and celebrities among those who have invested in his talent. He’s collaborated with fashion and skate-wear brands, breweries and more recently has branched out into the production of his own collectible toys. Following the success of his sold out 2017 solo show in London, he’s currently preparing a new series of works for his first solo exhibition in New York that will open in late May.
